Lady Tigers Vs. Lady Eagles 

On Friday Jan. 7  at the Van Es Arena, the lady Tigers faced off with Mt. Paran. It was the first region game of the new year and Head Coach Samantha Rush had been preparing all year for this season. 

Junior forward  Jy Johnson was one of their top players recorded 3 points 6 rebounds and 2 assists.

“I feel we could improve by not having as many turnovers as we did and making our free throws when they matter most,“ Johnson said.

Senior guard Evie Shadday recorded 6 points 2 assists and 2 rebounds. 

“I think that we played our hardest and we battled really hard and did our best,” Shadday said.

Throughout the game both teams had very great effort and fought hard throughout the whole game. In the first half the Tigers stuck with them and played great defense and had very good spacing on offense.

Junior guard Georgeanna Dempsey had 10 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.

“We could have made our free throws; we struggled with those,” Dempsey said

Unfortunately, in the second half, the Mt. Paran Eagles put the game out of reach for the Tigers.

The Tigers lost 64-44.
