With the poll closing at 10:20 a.m. on April 12, no candidate captured 40 percent of the vote. Therefore, the top two candidates, juniors Carson Barnes and Herren Burgess, will face off in a runoff election. The poll will open at 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13 and will end Thursday at the end of break. The Student Council will send out the poll and will place a notification on the announcements page for Wednesday.

Out of 335 eligible voters, which includes ninth, tenth and eleventh grades, 233 voted, bringing the turnout to 69.5 percent. Burgess won a plurality of the vote with 39.5 percent and about 92 votes. He fell just one half of one percentage point short of avoiding a runoff. Barnes placed second with 31.3 percent of the vote and about 73 votes. Bernadette Ebri placed third with 18 percent and about 42 votes. Emily Orr placed fourth with 8.6 percent and about 20 votes and Nicholas Jones placed fifth with 2.6 percent of the vote, amounting to about six votes.

The winner of the Burgess/Barnes runoff will be announced Monday, April 18 during assembly.
