Senior Myles Twyman signed to D1 Ivy League Princeton University for football and as a major in Business. The signing took place in the Dodd Banquet Dining Hall during office hours on February 27, where all his family, friends and peers gathered to witness his hard earned achievement. After his signing, guests helped themselves to tiger themed treats and a picture with Twyman.
“We are very proud of Myles and we are just very excited for him. We’ve been going hard on him all these years; his dedication to academics and athletics is astounding. We look forward to seeing great things in his future. Myles had quite a lot of offers, but Princeton was the best fit for him,” Tasha Twyman, Twyman’s mother, said.
As vital as parents are in finding the right college and making the best decision for you, coaches or someone important in your life can help guide you to that conclusion.
“I came in after Myles’ freshman year, so we worked three years together,” head football coach Wayne Groves said. “Myles was a really good baseball player and just got started with football, and he just worked his tail off. He’s a very hardworking kid, he’s got great character, he does everything we ask him to do, and he turned himself into a really good football player through hard work and through dedication to the program.”
Although the Twyman parents and Groves helped every step of the way with this process, Twyman had the final say and it was hard for him to decide what was the best fit.
“Actually, I was a baseball player first,” Twyman said. “My offers were Princeton, Georgetown, Army, Navy and Air Force. Choosing between Princeton and Georgetown was the hardest for me because my dad went [to Georgetown] which makes me a legacy. The moment I visited the campus and met with the coaches, I knew it was the right spot for me.”
