Spring sports events you do not want to miss

Baseball

Coming off a hot run late in the season last year, the baseball team will be looking for a successful season. Only losing two seniors, the team will have experienced players with a mix of talented underclassmen.

Notable events: Model, 3/3, 3/5, 3/6, Pepperell, 3/17, 3/19, 3/20. Heard County, 4/14, 4/16, 4/17

Track & Field

The boys’ track team had a solid performance at the state meet. This team will use their seasoned runners as an advantage to use their experience. The focus for this season is making sure the relays are as smooth as possible.
The girls’ track team is also coming off of an impressive state run and benefits from their highly specialized and talented small group of girls. They are planning on capitalizing off of their strong sprinters, jumpers and Cora Fannin.

Notable meets: The Westminster Relays April 11. The Area Track Meet April 22. Friday Light Nights at Baron March 20.

Soccer

The focus for the season this year is to win the region championship. Their strength is their midfield because they are physically in shape and can run for days. Their weakness is dealing with injuries. Most important matches are against Bremen and Model.

Lacrosse

Having a very experienced team this year, with also a heavy underclassman presence, the lacrosse team’s mix of people will lead to good development for the years to come.

Tennis

Coming off a very successful 2024-25 season, the boys’ tennis team will be looking to go all the way to state this year with a team full of returning players. The girls focus this year is to win the region championship and have a good performance in the playoffs.

Notable events: Mt. Paran, March 2. Model, March 26. Temple, March 31. Region Championships, April 15/16.

Golf

The focus of this golf season is defending their title but also bringing up some new talent. The team lost 2 important players from the team last year and they are focused on who is going to step up from the lower classes and perform well.
