RUMPUS 2019: Hunger Games/Fear Factor

Junior Kia Stocks (Regester) throws up teammate Tenniya Martin.

The 13th annual RUMPUS began with Fear Factor and Hunger Games. The rules of Fear Factor and Hunger Game consist of eating unusual and grotesque food or a large quantity of regular food. Houses aim to complete their food in the least amount of time; however, each person must finishing eating their item before the next person can begin theirs.

“I had no idea what I was going to eat, but I just had to be able to completely finish the dish without throwing,” Senior Omar Hamad (Moser) said.

This year’s fear factor and hunger games included Tofu, Tuna, a blended up Chick-Fil-A sandwich, a bag of Salt and Vinegar Chips, Ice Cream, chocolate covered insects and a milkshake with a twist.

“Hunger Games was an experience I never thought I would go through. I’ve never eaten raw tofu in my life and it was horrid,” Junior Tenniya Martin (Regester) said.

Many deem the event to be the most challenging of RUMPUS, and it resulted in vomit for many competitors.

“Being thrown up on is one hardship you have to go through to become a champ,” Martin said.

Cooper and Summerbell led their houses to victory and are now tied for first place.

“The best part was that Cooper, the first year dorm, finished first for the girl’s houses. As a leader of Cooper, I am extremely proud of the girls for giving all they had,” Junior Carisa Brogdon (Cooper) said.
