Scott Spyra could win an award for most changed from freshman year to senior year. Scott is a Midwest kid at heart that has a passion for the game of golf.

“Golf Academy has really helped me with my time at Darlington,” Spyra said. “It has allowed me to become close friends with people and travel around the best golf courses in the southeast.”

Spyra feels that the exposure to an international student body has been beneficial for him.

“I am extremely thankful that this school has such a diverse population, because I have been able to meet and become friends with people all over the world,” Spyra said. “I have been fortunate to have a great roommate from Nigeria, he has been a great person to know.”

Spyra has big aspirations after he graduates from Darlington.

“I want to go to college back home in the Midwest somewhere, preferably Northern Illinois University, where my dad went,” Spyra said. “ I want to go into some kind of business major, I am especially interested in finance. I love to trade on the stock market, so having a job in that field would be awesome.”

Coming to Darlington was a big a change for Spyra, arriving in January for the second semester of his freshman year. Spyra feels that Darlington has prepared him for life.

“Darlington has been a huge adjustment for me, as I was accustomed to a small midwest atmosphere back home,” Spyra said. “I am extremely thankful for this school because I believe that I have become a better student and have been prepared for success in college next year.”
