This year is one of the biggest years for people’s favorite movies, whether they are franchises adding sequels or books being turned into movies. The most anticipated ones are Spider-Man: A Brand New Day, The Odyssey, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, and The Devil Wears Prada 2.
Spider-Man: A Brand New Day is the 4th film starring Tom Holland as Spider-Man and is to be released on July 31, 2026. Peter Parker (Holland) is trying to live a normal life after the catastrophe he had to face in the last movie, but as a new danger looms, he is forced to wear the suit again.
The Odyssey is a book that follows and tells the story of Odysseus, the king of Ithaca. It is set to be released on July 17, 2026. It explains his many hardships and struggles as he tries to return home to his wife and family from the 10-year-long Trojan War. While he is struggling, his wife Penelope and son Telemachus are struggling with the suitors over whether to extend their welcome.
The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping is the 6th movie of the series and is set to be released on November 20, 2026. The earlier movies were mainly set on Katniss Everdeen, but this one is focused on Haymitch Abernathy, her mentor for her first games. This movies goes to the past to tell his story of his first games.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is the second movie to this series and it will be released on May 1, 2026. It is still bringing back the main iconic characters with the same idea of them working in fashion, but the fashion industry will be much more evolved than it was in the first film. Along with some of the characters from the last movie there will be new ones too with new roles to add the the shows plot.
I personally think all of these movies are going to be very good since the other series to them have been a big hit. The Odyssey is not part of a sequel, but I still think it will be well liked because the book and the story is well known. Along with that, The Devil Wears Prada 2 is only the second movie, but the first was well loved so I think this one will be too.
