Five Ways to Finish Strong

Five Ways to Finish Strong

They had us in the first half, here are some tips for the second.

#1  Forget last semester. Whether you killed it or failed epically, it’s over. Done. Finito. This second semester is a fresh start, a chance to do your best and wow everyone around you.

#2  Focus on yourself. In order to make the most of this second semester it is imperative that you find out what works for you. Take the time to ask yourself the important questions like, “How much sleep do I need?”, “Am I more successful after studying in groups or alone?” and “Are my extracurriculars taking up too much time?”. Once you find the answers to questions like these it will be a lot easier to navigate through the waters of second semester.

#3  Study. Study. Study. Second semester is a great opportunity to recover from grades you may not want to even think about from last semester. With the right attitude and the right amount of preparation anything is possible, so put in the time to pull those C’s up to B’s and those B’s up to A’s because you are solely in control of your future.

#4  Go to Swift and Finch. This tip goes hand in hand with #3 because not only does Swift and Finch serve the best coffee in Rome, Ga, but it provides what is, in my opinion, a top-notch study vibe.

#5  Get to know your teachers. If you haven’t done this already, then you’re slacking. Your teachers are your best resources. They are there to help, and in my experience, have always been willing to do so. You may even make a new friend in the process, a friend that may write a jam-up college recommendation letter for you in the future.
