It’s Spooky Season

Residential and day house prefects hosted a haunted house in the history hall on Oct. 27 for all students.

Those who visited the haunted house were quite impressed.

It was really fun and it was better than the haunted houses that were in this town,” junior Anish Patel said. “It was spooky and great. I liked the clown room the most because to me it was funny and the clowns were really great actors. They knew what they were doing. I thought it was not gonna be that good and it was going to be boring but it was actually really spooky and the decorations were amazing.”

Students who had never been to the haunted houses before really enjoyed the festivities.

I really liked the haunted house! I’ve never attended the haunted house at Darlington, but I’m so glad I did this year,” junior Gracie Temple said. “My thoughts going into it were ‘Oh, it’s just another haunted house,’ but while I was going through it, seeing my friends and classmates dressed up and actually trying to scare me made my experience even better!”

Other students also got scared by the haunted house this year.

“Well, going into it I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t think that it would be scary. I mean, it was a haunted house at school,” junior Camille Temple said. “Turns out I was terrified during the whole thing and ended up falling and tearing down one of the sheets hanging from the ceiling. Other than that, I had a great time. I can’t wait until next year!”

Even those who really were not planning on it ended up taking part in the case.

“At first, I was required to do the haunted house because one of our prefects couldn’t make it but it turned out to be such a great experience,” junior Molly Mansell said. “All of the prefects worked hard to make sure people had a great time. I’m usually the one that is terrified in haunted houses so it was fun for the roles to be reversed and scaring other people. It was a lot of hard work but it definitely paid off in the end!”
