Last year, a group of students expressed interest in an adult coloring iPeriod. Spanish teacher Gabriela Zini put this idea into action, and adult coloring has continuously been one of the more popular iPeriods since then.

“I started reading about [adult coloring], and when I discovered that it is on the top of relaxing techniques to relieve stress, I decided to suggest it as my next iPeriod,” Zini said.

Many students enjoy this iPeriod because it takes place in a relaxing environment.

“During this iPeriod, we just color,” senior Ansley McCoy said. “Ms. Zini plays calming music while we color, so it helps us focus.”

Zini hopes that this iPeriod gives students time away from the stress of schoolwork.

“I think that we all live situations that give us some kind of stress, and we need to manage it somehow,” Zini said. “Students like the idea to help themselves relieve their stress through coloring with also listening relaxing music.”

Zini plans to continue offering this iPeriod throughout the rest of the year.

“I decided to offer again this iPeriod starting on January because I would like to help students in any way possible,” Zini said.
