Coffee House in the Growl

The Coffee House is one of the REC’s student-run events with the help of Mrs. Babb, Mr. Kinney, and Mrs. Tunnell. Although the Coffee House only happens a few times in a semester, it is an opportunity for students, or even teachers, to get together and experience an evening of performances done by none other than the people of Darlington.

In the past, there were usually five musicians who performed, but this time, they are changing it up. Everyone, no matter day or boarding, student or teacher, is encouraged to join in and play instruments, read spoken word or poetry, perform stand-up comedy, sing a song, and so much more. The goal this year is to not only to bring more people in, but to also make the Coffee House something everyone looks forward to attending. Live performances will not be the only thing in this exciting event, there will also be coffee and a variety foods and sweets for everybody to enjoy and, of course, everything will be free.

The first Coffee House of the school year will be on Tuesday, Sept. 22 during both lunch periods in the Cove. Students and faculty are welcome to perform or even just hang out. Please email Shelby Cline with any questions.
