Benito Antonio Martínes Ocasio, better known as Bad Bunny, is a Puerto Rican singer, rapper, and songwriter who is recognized as a dominant global superstar and the “King of Latin Trap.” Bad Bunny just recently won multiple Grammy nominations and awards at the sixty-eighth annual Grammys in the Crypto Arena in Los Angeles. Another big event for Bad Bunny was Sunday, February 8th, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, where the singer performed the halftime show for the 2026 Super Bowl.

Bad Bunny made history at the past Grammy Awards, winning Album of the year for Debí Tirar Más Fotos, becoming the first artist to win the top prize with a Spanish-language album. With three awards, including album of the year, Best Musica Urbana Album, and the Best Global Music Performance, he has received almost seventeen wins at the Latin Grammy Awards.

According to CNN, Bad Bunny, in particular, is known for his sense of unique fashion and style. He showed off a black velvet Schiaparelli Haute Couture tuxedo, marking the brand’s first-ever menswear look.

E News sources say that with Bad Bunny’s “big game” for the Superbowl Sunday, he was not able to perform at the Grammys.

“Whoever is doing the Super Bowl is contractually obligated to only do the Super Bowl,” Trevor Noah said.

Although Bad Bunny replied, “I came here intending to perform, I wish I could, but I can’t.”

According to CNN, there was much controversy in the air about Bad Bunny and his performance before the Super Bowl, as well as his time on stage receiving his awards at the Grammys, delivering a pointed political message that protested the recent actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). With this in mind, NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell, also makes a comment about Bad Bunny in hopes of his performance creating unity and a strong sense of connection on Sunday night with thousands of people watching live.

On the upside, one of the most iconic moments in NFL history is the Super Bowl halftime show. This year, in particular, one of the most popular music artists as of right now will be performing along with Green Day, Coco, and Jones.

“Listen, Bad Bunny, is – and I think that was demonstrated last night – one of the great artists in the world, and that’s one of the reasons we chose him,” Goodell said.
