International Fair 2016
Our International Fair is a great chance for all students to experience cultures of the world.
International students are a big part of Darlington family, so they always play an important role in this special day. Students from all over the world prepare to show their countries, culture, and food.
It’s typical of participating students to prepare for this celebration an entire month in advance. This is hard work, but the chance to better the Darlington community through food and fellowship should not be missed.
“Of course, it is hard and taking lots of time, but we like it,” said junior Donna Ren.
Chinese students, typically the largest international population, must make the hard decision of what foods will best represent their culture.
In preparation, several students went to Super Hmart in Duluth, Ga, which is a grocery store that specializes in Asian cuisine.
“We have to cook lots of food before the international fair, and we also have to figure out that how to keep the food temperature and taste until to the fair, too,” said junior Nina Zhou, one of students who will be representing China this year.
Our annual International Fair will be held this Friday in the Johnson Field House. We will have 35 minute classes to allot time for our hour-long celebration of cultures across the world.
