Glazed and Confused
If you haven’t found out by now, a Krispy Kreme is being built in Rome.
The old Wendy’s has been knocked down and as it’s replacement will serve as the newest and sweetest addition to Rome. It’s safe to say that everyone that has ever gone to Krispy Kreme is excited about this change, seeing as though it’s practically impossible to stop yourself after one Krispy Kreme doughnut, especially when the “HOT” sign is flashing red.
“When I was probably twelve, I went to Gatlinburg with my youth group and at like 1 a.m. in the morning and the red light sign came on. So, we all ran over to Krispy Kreme,” sophomore Brie Bishop said.
The Krispy Kreme is being built on 602 Turner McCall Boulevard and according to the Rome News Tribune, “The drawings for the new 2,871 square foot Krispy Kreme show indoor seating for 30 customers and exterior seating for 12″.
The question many seem to have is whether or not this is change will affect the business of other donut shops in Rome, like the nearby Sweet Bar located on 601 Turner McCall Boulevard.
Our new Krispy Kreme plans to open on Feb. 23rd.
