The school week before homecoming is a time where the student body is given themes for each day and the chance to give their best attempts at dressing up. This week is known as Spirit Week. Spirit Week is a reason to get the student body excited for the upcoming dance by letting them have days without their uniform in free dress, as long as it is on theme. The spirit days consisted of Pajama Day, Rhyme Without Reason day, Homecoming Shirt Day and Crazy Socks Day. Junior Kensie Waller, Sophomore Cooper Norris and freshman Tylin Lovingood give their thoughts on the Spirit Week outfits.
“I think it’s fun and I play a big part in planning the week so I wanted to participate,” Waller said.
Norris shares his thoughts on the themes this year.
“They were pretty strong but they could’ve been stronger. I would have to say Rhyme Without Reason or Pajama Day is the one I was most excited for,” Norris said.
Students liked either Pajama Day or rhyme without reason the best.
“I was most excited for Pajama Day because I like dressing in my pajamas,” Lovingood said. “I like the rhyme without reason one.”
Spirit Week was a good way for students to express themselves creatively with each costume they wore.
Norris said, “Everybody gets to come together and dress up and share ideas about their outfits.”
