Over this past week, on September 27, the halls have been flooded with the word of the University of Georgia (UGA) versus University of Alabama game that was held in Athens, Georgia. UGA and Alabama have a large rivalry between their two college schools for decades now. Senior Charlie Jackson attended the game in Athens with his family and is a passionate Georgia Bulldogs fan.
“I am a Georgia fan, and I love going to the games,” Jackson said. “I go to many of the games because both of my parents went to Georgia. This game was a lot more special than others because it was a blackout. It was versus Alabama, which is always a great game, even though I might not be happy about the outcome of the game, it was still a lot of fun and I’m glad I got to enjoy the experience at the game.”
Many people love this game because it’s their first time attending a major college football game, and it’s a very special experience for them. Many people have different thoughts and opinions on the controversial rivalry; some are passionate Alabama fans, while there are a number of Georgia fans as well.
“My mom, dad and my brother are all currently at Alabama or previously went to Alabama so that’s why I’m a huge Alabama fan,” sophomore Levi Duggan said. “That’s why I loved going to this game because it was my first time in Athens. I got to wear what I was comfortable in, which was some boots, Wrangler jeans and a polo. I loved the experience because I got to see the field very clearly, and I love football and watching it because I play football.”
People at the football game love the concession stands at Sanford Stadium, because they always have the best hot dogs, pretzels and drinks. Sanford Stadium is sponsored by Coke, which helps them provide great game day drinks in the stadium and allows the fans to have an unforgettable experience.
“I was at the Georgia versus Alabama game. I had a pretzel a hotdog and some Coke beverages, which was some of the best food I’ve had ever inside of a stadium. I like going to these games, almost my whole family went to the University of Georgia,” said senior Bradford Middleton.
