The varsity tennis team swept Tallulah Falls in a dominant 5-0 win in the second round of their playoff tournament.
“We worked together and played very hard,” senior Tyga Ntayagabiri said. “We did our best and the hard work paid off.”
The varsity tennis team worked for all their points in their triumphant sweep against Tallulah Falls. With that, they are now in the elite eight in the state playoffs.
“We are trying our best to keep our heads with all the pressure, and we are going through procedures to take care of our bodies and ensure optimized performances in the coming round,” Ntayagabiri said.
The team did well in this round and they are trying to uphold their standards as they go deeper into the playoffs. Despite all the glory, the team is trying to solve some problems to help them as they go on to play against teams with more skill and talent.
“In practice, we are going over our imperfections and trying to be the best we can because we know it only gets harder from here,” Ntayagabiri said.
The team has high expectations for the coming rounds in the playoffs with ambitions to win state and to keep fighting in nationals.
“We have a very talented group and we are all dedicated to making ourselves better. I’m confident about this group and I think that we can make it far this year.” Ntayagabiri said.
