On Feb 27, The lacrosse team had their first home game against Allatoona at 6:30 p.m. on the Jerry Sharp Fields.
“Even though we lost the game, They did well. They played well, They had a good attitude towards the game and they had a better attitude towards learning more about being better players for the next game,” junior Lacrosse Manager Natalia Sands said.
The team performed admirably overall, but like anything, they had specific difficulties that somewhat hindered them.
“We could’ve had better defense, and we could have scored more goals; our girls just need to be more aggressive when it comes to getting the ball,” Natalia said.
Even though they had a few hiccups along the way, their practices allowed them to get past them and get better for the next game.
“After we had our first game away we took note of everything that went wrong at that game and the coach incorporated that into drills for the next home game,” senior Mary Blair Fuller said.
As previously mentioned, the team’s positive outlook on everything contributed to their incredible unity.
“The team’s chemistry is perfect this year, I feel like it’s a lot less drama than there was in previous years and we all get along well, which makes practices fun,” Fuller said.
This year’s team is incredibly close; they credit their coach for that.
“Coach Collier has set up a lot of team bonding activities,” Fuller said.” We do big-littles, we had a “Galentines” event and we are going out to eat for our big-little reveal.”
