Jake Womack ’17: Rising to the Challenge
Senior Jake Womack is thankful for his high school experience because he has gained lifelong friends and learned many valuable lessons.
Womack believes Darlington helped him more by making him stay on top of his tasks and not let him slack down any.
“Darlington has made me stay on top of my tasks,” Womack said.
Womack has learned that not giving up and sticking with something will bring him a greater value.
“Yes, Darlington has prepared me for life because it has taught me the value of hard work and to stick with a tough schedule,” Womack said.
Womack has made many lifelong friends at Darlington.
“In 7th grade Spanish with Mrs. Robinson because Kane Popham and I always a good time out of a tough class,” Womack said.
Because of his hard work, Womack feels he deserves a diploma.
“It feels like I have earned a diploma because I have been at Darlington and challenged myself with the Darlington rigor and have made life long friends that I have known since the beginning since Kindergarten,” Womack said.
Womack feels that Darlington has challenged him ways that other schools couldn’t and put him in situations that will help him along in life.
“I feel like Darlington helps me a lot because it get stuff out of it that I can’t get out of other schools,” Womack said.
Womack likes to be able to try new things that Darlington has to offer.
“I like that Darlington can offer me more than just academics. I like how you can choose from a lot of different options for curriculum activities because it gives people to reach out and try new things,” Womack said.
Womack is proud to go to Darlington and he feels that the schools environment is one like no other.
“Darlington has brought so much more to me than just academics, the environment at Darlington is one that I am glad I got to experience,” Womack said.
