Sara Berry is already seeing her dreams come true and has decided to focus on what all is to come.
Sara’s favorite hobby became her aspiration in life as she sees herself continuing her small business of doing hair and makeup after high school.
“If you know me you would know that outside of school, my hobby is hair and makeup. I work at a hair salon and have started my own small business doing hair and makeup for weddings, proms, and other events,” Berry said.
After graduating Darlington, Sara plans to attend Georgia College in Milledgeville, Georgia in order to make her dreams of becoming a future makeup artist come true.
“When I graduate from Darlington my plan is to go to college and get a bachelors degree in business. Then I want to go to cosmetology school so I can start my career as a celebrity hairstylist and makeup artist,” Berry said.
After spending the majority of her life on the Darlington campus, Sara hopes to leaves current and future Darlington students with the following words of wisdom.
“If I had any advice that I would give to future Darlington high school students it would be to get involved in the dorms, form relationships with people, and try to enjoy the journey instead of always looking at the destination. It gets stressful at times, but make sure you make time for fun things too. Some of my best memories from high school are spontaneous concerts and late night trips to waffle house,” Berry said.
To her classmates, Sara would like to give words of encouragement and reflection.
“And to the Class of 2017, I can’t wait to graduate with you guys. It’s been one crazy ride,” Berry said.
