Is there something you think you were meant to do or be?

“Yes. I do think that there is something I am meant to do, however, I don’t believe I’ve found that thing quite yet.”

What drives you to do better at something?

“I just truly believe that hard work leads to success in the future. I think that’s the main thing that tends to drive me.”

If karma were coming back to you, would it help or hurt you?

“Well…I don’t believe in karma, but if it was real, it would probably hurt me as far as some of the relationships that I have had, but as a whole, I think it would all work itself out, who knows? Maybe it would even help.”

What do you want most out of life?

“I want to look back at all my life, at the end of my days, and be proud. I want to know that I’ve made a positive impact in the world, even if that means just within my family and only to the people I care about.”

What terrifies you the most? Describe a scenario that would make you feel this way.

“Oh wow, this is dark, man. Well the thing I value the most would have to be my family, so seeing them suffer and not being able to do anything about it would just be horrible.”

What would happen if you never wasted another minute of your life? What would that look like?

“Wow…ok. If I were intentional with every minute of every day I would not use my phone, or any technology unless I was doing work to better my future. I’d pretty much be doing summer programs, preparing for college, and spending time with family. My relationships with others would be a lot better, but I can’t help it.”

How much control do you really have over yourself?

“None.”

Who are you really? Describe yourself without using your name or any attributes given to you by society.

“I mean, I think I’m a good person. Deep down, I think that I can put up a façade, but I do care a lot about the people that I care about. I think I just don’t like to waste my time on people that I don’t deem worthy, which is a problem, because I should treat all people the same.”

What are you holding onto that you feel you need to let go of?

“Oh my God, a lot. I know I hold grudges for a really long time and it ends up contributing to my own demise and not that of the person I’m upset with. I need to let go of the grudges I hold against people who have wronged me, intentionally or unintentionally; I tend to take it personally, so I need to learn to just cope and move on and understand that, if they apologize, I need to just accept it and move on, because if not, I’m only hurting myself.”

Describe an activity that you love. Now describe a quality that you believe you have acquired through that activity.

“I grew up doing independent sports because I didn’t really play well with others as a kid. So I did tennis, and I’d always play singles, and gymnastics, and ballet. Then I started to play volleyball in middle school at my old school and, at first I just LOVED the sport, but I hated depending on others to be successful, you know? So, I think that taught me a lot about trusting others and being a part of something greater to achieve something bigger than myself.”
