What Students Think About Club Periods
Club periods are meant for students to learn about what they may be interested in later on in life. Some club periods offered are IMPACT, FCA, political clubs such as Young Democrats, Young Republicans, and Young Libertarians, Book Club, Literature Appreciation, and many more. Most take advantage of our new schedule and built in club time because they are passionate about a certain club or just curious about a new topic.
“It is a good time to do what you’re inspired to do. It’s a good idea and I think it should stay,” junior Caroline Cordell, who is involved in FCA and Spanish Club said.
Others, however, use club time as a chance to do homework and play games.
“I did not sign up for a club period because the options were not good, and it is a free period if you don’t join a club,” freshman Carter Anderson said.
Many Darlington students seem to agree with Anderson’s opinion on club periods.
“I did not do a club period because I just wanted a free period to play ping-pong along with Carter, Sam, Spencer and Tyson,” freshman Rush Patel said.
In conclusion, I think club periods are really meant to be something good, but not all students are not taking advantage of it.
