All Colleges Are a Fair Game
Over 150 college representatives from all over the world came to Darlington on Monday to show students why they should consider coming to their college. Students felt like this was a especially great way to learn about colleges they’re interested in, but also learn about colleges they have never heard of before.
“I’m from the midwest, so I was trying to find some colleges from that region that I had never heard of before,” senior Scott Spyra said. “ There were many great schools that I learned about, but Depauw University stood out to me the most because of their awesome business program.”
Most students known about the big university schools, such as Georgia, Alabama, or Auburn, but the college fair opened students eyes to other options.
“Going into the college fair I thought that it wouldn’t be that helpful for me since I really want to go to Georgia, but I decided to give other schools a try,” junior Anish Patel said. “I was pleasantly surprised with some colleges that I would’ve never considered before.”
The college fair was not only important to seniors, but juniors also felt like it was important for them as well.
“I felt like it was important for not only seniors, but also for junior who are starting to think about where they want to go to college,” junior Maggie Hawkins said. “The college fair experience was great because all high schoolers got to take place in it.”
Overall, students got to learn about schools they didn’t know, but also learn more about schools they were already considering.
“The college fair was a great experience to see what other colleges have to offer. I learned so much about different colleges around the world,” Patel said. “This helped me greatly with my decision of which college I should got to”
