Meet The Editors
Next year will include some large changes to our media arts program.

Jabberwokk (Yearbook)
- Editor-in-Chief: Claire Anderson & Katherine Gu
Anderson: “I’m super excited about being Editor in Chief of the yearbook especially with the amazing upcoming staff we have, including my co editor in chief Katherine. We have already gotten to be leaders in Cooper together and I think it’s going to be awesome to bring that to the yearbook as well. I know it will be a lot of hard work and late nights but I prepared to do whatever it takes to make this a great book.”
Gu: “My biggest goal is to work with all the other editors and help improve the yearbook. I think next year is goanna be great.”
- Managing Editor of Editorial Content: Ishani Desai
- Managing Editor of Reference Content: Kate Flory & Abigail Smith
Flory: “[We will] have a schedule and make sure everyone is working. Organization is key. My biggest goal is to try have everything done early or on time. I will mange the portraits and group photos.”
Smith: “Next year, as Co- Managing Editor of Reference Coverage, I plan to work very closely with the other Co-Managing Editor of Reference Coverage, Kate Flory, to make the reference section flow nicely as well as organize and plan everything very efficiently. My goal is to work on not only improving the reference coverage as much as possible, but the yearbook as a whole.”
- Ads & Coverage Editor: Farrin Mumpower
Mumpower: “I am in charge of getting all the senior ads done and making sure that everyone is mentioned in the yearbook fairly.”
- Design Editor: David Kim
Kim: “My only goal as a design editor is to be completely original from the past yearbooks. I want my designs to serve as an example for future yearbooks.”
- Assistant Design Editor: Sirius Liu
Liu: “I’m going to be the assistant design editor and work with David Kim, who’s the design editor, next year. My biggest goal is to improve the yearbook better.”
- Photo Editor: Sam Ding
Ding: “Good, solid photos are always the necessities, but I also want the photographers next year to build up the ability to think how they can make a normal yearbook photo appealing.”
- Equipment Manager: Matyah Jackson
Jackson: “My job as equipment manager is to organize and label everything.”
- Copy Editor: Gracie Padgett
Padgett: “I am going to make sure I have all the grammar rules memorized and I am going to do my best to make every piece of writing the best it can be.”
Darlingtonian (Newspaper)
- Editor-in-Chief: Emily Orr
Orr: “We are going to be using the three column beat system including academics, social life, and sports. Every Monday the Newsroom will pitch ideas that are in one of those three categories. From that point on, everything should run smoothly.”
- Assistant Editor-in-Chief: Abby Sklar
- Managing Editor: Madison Vaughn
Vaughn: “I plan to keep the Darlingtonian in order and make sure everything is submitted in a timely manor.”
- Video Editor: Georgi McCauley
McCauley: “I am hoping to get students involved and get them to take it serious. Since it is a new program I want to really build the program.”
- Photo Editor: Ian Kinney
“My biggest goal to accomplish with this position is to focus on every part of Darlington and to capture the activities and events going on every day. I want to make sure that at every school function we have coverage by our photography team, in order to make sure that we have every event visually presented on the Darlingtonian.”
- Sports Editor: Annabelle Braden
“I feel that I am going to make the sports section the best it can be on the Darlingtonian. I am going to make sure I get good sources and make it even better than it has been this past year.”
