First Home Swim Meet

The warm air smelled of chlorine as senior co-captains Caroline Temples and Maddie Bou adjusted their swim caps and prepared for their final first home meet of the swim season.

“It was a big meet for me because this was my last first home meet,” Temples who has been swimming for Darlington since middle school said.

The team hosted their first meet at home on Nov. 30, competing against Woodstock, Coahulla Creek, Cass and Dawson County for a swim and dive competition.

Our home meet will have supporters and the advantage of being familiar with the pool. I am hoping that these advantages will propel the team to do their best and break some of their personal times,” junior Kacey Kemp said.

The team’s 200 medley relay team came in third while the 200 free relay feet team came in second, and overall placed second.
