As the start of the school year is starting to settle down, the main talk of Darworld is revolving around Homecoming. Whether you are a hopeless romantic waiting to be asked, or a guy not sure how to ask, take a look at the countdown of the 10 best ways to be asked to Homecoming.

10) Although some prefer being asked in some extravagant manner, Freshman Julia Holmes said, “She was just asked” and that she was excited.

9) Senior Jenna Crutcher shared how flowers could do the trick. She said, “I was asked by my boyfriend with flowers and in chalk he wrote out ‘Will you go to homecoming with me?’” It was all Jenna needed to get her ticket to the dance.

8) Freshman Madeline Dillmon was asked with a lollipop. She said, “He gave me a dum dum and said, ‘Homecoming would be dumb without you.’”

7) Junior Stephanie Ward shared that surprises truly are awesome. She said, “He was hiding in my room and on the floor were hershey kisses lined up that spelled HC.” He then popped out of his hiding place and asked the question.

6) Senior Alex Zegarra was asked with a Pokeball. She said, “He came up to me and tossed me a Pokeball and told me to open it while saying ‘I choose you’ (all you Pokeballers will understand that lingo, I didn’t) and I opened it and it said ‘Will you go to Homecoming with me?”

5) Finding something that they are obsessed with and asking them with that thing is key to how Nick Shealy asked Evangeline Porter. I’m almost positive everyone at Darlington knows about Evangeline’s obsession with teddy bears and she couldn’t be happier when her date asked her with one. She said, “He took me to his car and gave me an enormous teddy bear and said, ‘Couldn’t bear to go without you.’”

4)   Using a play on words is exactly what Senior Gboyega Adeyeye did when he asked his date. He said, “I put a sign on a box that said, ‘Don’t mean to box my emotions’, and when she opened the box there was a bouquet of sucker that said, ‘Homecoming would suck without you.’”

3) Junior Kenna Wells got a special surprise from her date and his friends. She said, “I was walking by the lake and there were guys hiding in the bushes. They popped out with their shirts off and had paint on their abs spelling out ‘Homecoming?’ And Matt was the question mark.”

2) Coming in as the runner up on the countdown is senior Katie Hurley. She shared just how special one night can really be. She said, “ We went to eat with a group of friends and he said he wanted to take me to the flag bridge to take pictures and then he said, ‘Oh, look at those locks.’ and one said Katie and one said HC.”

1) And finally, the best way to be asked to Homecoming is by phone. Not just some simple phone call, this one took some serious work. Senior Brooks Busby got one of Emily Swafford’s friends to take their phone and put his name as HOMECOMING? and put a picture of him. Emily said, “He called me and I saw his picture in the corner. He walked in the lounge with flowers and asked me.”

With all the asking going around, make sure you guys jump on it and start asking the girls! It’s never too late!
